The people behind every Caladesi project

John has spent nearly 50 years in the construction industry, all of them with Caladesi, making him the company’s longest-tenured team member. His expertise spans estimating and project management, including pre-engineered metal buildings, design/build construction, commercial projects, and interior renovations. He also holds a State of Florida Roofing License.

Over the years, John has contributed to a wide range of projects throughout Tampa Bay and beyond, from hotel renovations at the Don CeSar and TradeWinds to work at MacDill Air Force Base, GE Aerospace, PIE Airport, and multiple United Rentals facilities across Florida. Among the many projects he’s proud to have been part of, he points to the City of St. Petersburg Air Module Facility at Albert Whitted Airport as one that stands out.

What John continues to enjoy most is connecting with new clients and bringing together the right team for each project. Away from the job, he can be found spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Chris’s history with Caladesi goes back more than four decades. He first joined the company in 1981 before his career took him in other directions and, fittingly, made the full circle back to Caladesi in 2023. Today, as Project Manager, Chris primarily oversees projects for Hillsborough County, bringing decades of industry knowledge and experience to every project he manages.

A State Certified General Contractor, Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture along with graduate studies in Urban and Regional Planning. His background gives him a unique perspective across both the design and construction sides of a project, while his favorite part of being back at Caladesi is simple: the people.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys adventures of all kinds and is always ready to see where the next one takes him.

Kurt brings more than 30 years of experience to Caladesi, with a background spanning both residential and commercial construction. He joined the company nine years ago and today serves as Project Manager specializing in site and utility work, primarily overseeing Pinellas County utility projects while lending his experience to other projects as needed.

A Florida State University alumnus, Kurt has spent 15 years in residential construction and 16 years in commercial construction. While he’s proud of every project he’s been part of at Caladesi, much of his work isn’t something you’ll spot while driving around Tampa Bay; it is located behind secure facilities or, quite literally, buried underground.

What Kurt values most about Caladesi is its family-oriented atmosphere and the way the team supports one another. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Andrea, and their two daughters, Katie and Izzie.

Greg brings more than 17 years of experience in construction, project management, capital improvements, and logistics. He has managed projects from planning and budgeting through construction and closeout, with a strong focus on communication, quality, scheduling, and cost control. Greg is also a Certified Public Manager and Certified Public Supervisor through Florida State University.

Kristin’s connection to Caladesi has always been about more than a job. As the daughter of Don Hinrichs, she grew up with the company as part of her family’s story before eventually becoming part of its day-to-day story herself. She joined Caladesi in the early 90s and continued working after becoming a mom, before stepping away from her career to focus on raising her family. Years later, she returned to Caladesi, bringing her story with the company full circle.

Today, she supports the day-to-day operations of Caladesi through payroll, job orders, change orders, and project administration, helping keep the details behind the work organized and moving forward.

When she’s not at Caladesi, she’s happiest spending time with her daughters, Savannah and Delaney, or catching a sunset at the beach.

Ernitza has been part of the Caladesi team for three years, supporting the company’s day to day operations with a primary focus on accounts payable and administrative coordination. Always willing to step in wherever she’s needed, Ernitza helps keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and has enjoyed growing her knowledge of the construction industry along the way.

What she loves most about Caladesi is its family-oriented culture and the opportunity to learn something new nearly every day. Outside of the office, Ernitza enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and exploring new places, both locally and abroad!
