From the archives: Hope Presbyterian groundbreaking

In September 1982 the congregation of Hope Presbyterian Church gathered on an open field with a hand-painted sign, a few shovels, and a completion date of November that year painted on the board. Don Hinrichs was there with a shovel of his own.

Church work has been part of Caladesi since the beginning. Sanctuaries, fellowship halls, and classroom wings for congregations across Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties run through our project files from the 1970s to today.

The photographs

These prints came out of a box in the office during our website project. The colors have shifted the way 1980s prints do, but the moment is clear: a small congregation, a Design/Build team, and a building that would be ready for services within the year.
